To a solution of [(2R,3R,4S,5R,6S)-3,4,5-tribenzyloxy-6-[3-[(4-benzyloxyphenyl)methyl]-4-chloro-phenyl]-6-methoxy-tetrahydropyran-2-yl]methanol 25h (1.0 g, 1.3 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 mL) was added 2-iodoxybenzoic acid (1.09 g, 3.9 mmol) at room temperature. The mixture was refluxed for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound 25i as a yellow solid (1.0 g, 100%). This material was not further purified.
