A solution of tert-butyl 4-(2,6-dichloro-4-pyridyl)-5,6-dihydro-2H-pyridine-1-carboxylate (395 mg, 1.20 mmol) and 2-(methylamino)ethanol (3.5 mL, 44 mmol) in a glass vial was heated in oil bath at 100° C. for 4 h. After cooled, it was diluted with water (50 mL), extracted with EtOAc (2×50 mL). The combined EtOAc were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated in vacuo, and dried under high vacuum to give orange syrup. It was carried on without further purification. LC-MS: m/z=367 (M+H+).
