The obtained (2R)-2-amino-2-methyl-4-[2-(3-phenylpropyloxy)thiophen-5-yl]butan-1-ol (15.2. mg, 0.048 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (1 ml), and tartaric acid (4.5 mg, 0.049 mmol) was added thereto followed by stirring for 1.5 hours at room temperature. The solvent was concentrated under reduced pressure, and then ethyl acetate was added thereto to precipitate crystals, which were filtered off. The precipitate was washed with ethyl acetate and dried to afford the title compound (18.5 mg, 95% yield).
