A solution of Boc-homophenylalanyl-Nδ-Cbz-ornithinyl 2-benzothiazolyl thioether (B) (35 mg) and trifluoroacetic acid (10 ml) was kept at 25° C. for 2 hrs and concentrated in vacuo. After HPLC purification (method A, retention time=42.1 min), there was obtained a white solid (33 mg): 1H NMR (400 MHz, D2O) δ1.78-1.90 (m, 4H), 2.04 (m, 2H), 2.62 (m, 2H), 3.11 (m, 2H), 3.44 (dd, J=13.3; 9.6 Hz, 1H), 3.79 (dd, J=13.0; 2.7 Hz, 1H), 4.06 (t, J=5.9 Hz, 1H), 4.41 (m, 1H), 7.03 (m, 2H), 7.24 (m, 3H), 7.42 (t, J=8.5 Hz, 1H), 7.55 (t, J=9.4 Hz, 1H), 7.81 (d, J=9.5 Hz, 1H), and 7.85 (d, J=8.6 Hz, 1H).
