Following the procedure for the preparation of 10-(2-propoxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydroazepino[4,5-b]indole and substituting 2-iodopropane for 1-iodopropane while making non-critical variations the title compound was obtained as 236 mg (56%) of a brown oil: 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.88 (br s, 1H), 7.36-7.26 (m, 3H), 7.16-7.12 (m, 1H), 7.05-7.00 (m, 2H), 6.95 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 4.33-4.27 (m, 1H), 3.11-3.03 (m, 2H), 2.96-2.94 (m, 2H), 2.87-2.81 (m, 2H), 2.48-2.35 (m, 2H), 1.15-1.08 (m, 6H); HRMS (FAB) calcd for C21H24N2O+H1: 321.1967 found 321.1949.
