To a solution of ethyl 1-(3-aminobenzisoxazole-5-yl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazole carboxylate (0.14 g) in THF (5 mL) was added NaOH (10% in water, 5 mL). The reaction was stirred at 600° C. for 2 h, THF was evaporated, HCl (10% in water) was added dropwisely until the pH was between 4-5, partitioned between ethylacetate and water, washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to give 1-(3-aminobenzisoxazole-5-yl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazole carboxylic acid (0.11 g). ESI mass spectrum z (rel. intensity) 259 (M+H, 100).
