Procedure

The title compound (600 mg) was prepared by the method of Example 85 using 1.6 g (5.0 mmole) of 6-[[(5,6-dimethoxy-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)thio]methyl]-2-pyridinamine (see Example 98) instead of 6-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylthio)-methyl]-2-pyridinamine. Structure assignment was supported by the nmr spectrum and by elemental analysis. Analysis. Calc'd. for C15H16N4SO3*¼ H2O: C, 53.48; H, 4.90; N, 16.63; S, 9.52. Found: C, 53.54; H, 4.57; N, 16.45; S, 9.79.
