Using the procedure of Example 8, 452 mg of 4-pyridyl-acetic acid were reacted with stirring for 3 hours and the product obtained in the form of a base was converted into fumarate by the method of Example 4 to obtain 373 mg of [4aRS(4aα, 8α, 8aα)](±)-1-(4-pyridinyl)-acetyl]-decahydro-8-(1-pyrrolidinyl)-quinoline fumarate melting at 232° C.
