Procedure
Nα -o-nitrobenzenesulfonyl-Nε -benzyloxycarbonyl-L-lysyl-L-proline benzylester (5.82 g, 8.9 mmole) was dissolved in methanol (40 ml), and hydrogen gas was Passed through the solution in the presence of 5% palladium-carbon as a catalyst for 6 hours. The catalyst was removed by filtration, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue thus obtained was dissolved in water (25 ml). The solution was washed with three 25 ml portions of diethyl ether and the water layer as separated was freeze-dried to obtain Nα -o-aminobenzenesulfonyl-L-lysyl-L-proline (yield: 3.23 g, 90.9%).
