Reaction Steps
1.41 g (4.35 mmol) of the acid obtained in Example 29 are treated with 330 mg of lithium aluminium hydride. The reaction mixture is refluxed for 2 h 30 min and it is then treated with a saturated ammoniumchloride solution and then extracted with 300 ml of ether. After drying and evaporation of the organic phase, the residue is recrystallized from hexane to give 1.21 g (90%) of the expected derivative which melts at 88°-90° C.
