Reaction Steps
A mixture of 0.676g of S-methyl-N-nitroisothiourea, 0.783g of 2-chloro-5-(methylaminomethyl)pyridine and 6ml of acetonitrile was refluxed for 17 hours, and concentrated. The residue was recrystallized from ethanol to obtain 0.38g of 1-(6-chloro-3-pyridylmethyl)-1-methyl-2-nitroguanidine (Compound No. 7).
