The ethyl ester from Example 39 (404 mg, 0.600 mmol) was dissolved in 2M sodium hydroxide solution (10 ml), and the resulting solution was kept at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted to 30 ml and extracted with diethyl ether. The aqueous phase was acidified to pH 1 with 2M hydrochloric acid and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×25 ml). The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to afford the title compound (375 mg, 97%) as a white foam. Found: C,58.30; H,7.24; N,8.20. C33H48N4O9. (0.25 CH2Cl2, 1.25 H2O) requires C,58.00; H,7.17; N,8.14%.
