Procedure

2.02 g (0.013 mole) of 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine are dissolved in 80 ml of dichloromethane, and 4.28 g (0.014 mole) of 2-chloroethyl 2-isocyanatosulfonyloxybenzoate, dissolved in 20 ml of dichloromethane, are added at 0° C. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 18 hours and is then stirred into 600 ml of n-heptane. In this manner, 4.72 g (79% of theory) of 2-chloroethyl 2-[3-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)ureidosulfonyloxy]-benzoate of melting point 148°-150° C. are obtained.
