Procedure

A mixture of 3.8 g of 4-chloroacetyl-4,5-dihydro6-ethyl-7-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitrile, 1.8 ml of 1-benzyl piperazine and 1.1 g of sodium carbonate in 128 ml of toluene was reacted as described in Example 146, giving 3.7 g of the desired product, mp 97°-99° C.
