Reaction Steps
0.4 g of the crystals obtained in Example 172, 0.276 g of anisyl alcohol and 0.524 g of triphenylphosphine were dissolved in 10 ml of tetrahydrofuran, and to the solution was added dropwise a solution of 0.404 g of diisopropyl azodicarboxylate in 2 ml of tetrahydrofuran with stirring under ice cooling. The reaction mixture was warmed to a room temperature and was allowed to stand overnight and then evaporated under a reduced pressure to remove the solvent. The resulting residue was dissolved in 30 ml of ethyl acetate, and the mixture was extracted twice with 30 ml of 1N hydrochloric acid. The extract was alkalized with sodium bicarbonate and extracted twice with 30 ml of ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate solution was washed with water, dried over magnesium sulfate and evaporated under a reduced pressure to remove the solvent. The resulting residue was applied to a silica gel column and eluted with 1% methanol in chloroform, to obtain 0.22 g of the title compound as a colorless oil.
