Reaction Steps
0.72 g of 2-cyano-7-(3-(quinolin-2-ylmethoxy)phenoxymethyl)-4-oxo-4H-1-benzopyran, 0.54 g of sodium azide and 0.96 g pyridinium chloride are combined in 20 ml of dimethylformamide and heated for 3 hours at 100° C. The mixture is poured into water and the precipitate filtered off. This crude product is recrystallized from dimethylformamide to give 5-(7-(3-(quinolin-2-ylmethoxy)phenoxymethyl)-4-oxo-4H-1-benzopyran-2-yl)tetrazole; m.p. 246° C.
