A mixture of ethyl 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-difluoromethoxy-4-oxo-3,4-dihydrobenzo[4,5]furo[2,3-d]pyridazine-9-carboxylate (from step I) (160 mg, 0.36 mmol) and sodium hydroxide (24 mg, 0.51 mmol) in methanol (10 ml) was heated to reflux temp. Progress of reaction was monitored by TLC. At the end, reaction mixture was concentrated under vacuum. Then water (50 ml) was added to reaction mixture and acidified with dilute HCl. The precipitate obtained was filtered and dried in oven. 140 mg yellow colored solid was obtained.
