g of methyl 3-{4-[6-(tert-butoxycarbonylmethylamino)pyrid-2-yl]-3-ethoxyphenyl}propionate is dissolved in 10 mL of dichloromethane and 4 mL of trifluoroacetic acid are then added. The mixture is stirred for 48 hours at room temperature. After hydrolysis of the reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and then extraction with ethyl acetate, the solvents are evaporated off. 615 mg of methyl 3-[3-ethoxy-4-(6-methylaminopyrid-2-yl)phenyl]propionate are obtained. Yield=81%.
