A mixture 3-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl-phenylamine (210 mg, 1.0 mmol), 2-chloropyrimidine (115 mg, 1 mmol) and NaOtBu (100 mg, 1.0 mmol) in dry dioxane (2 ml) was stirred and heated at 100° C. under N2 for 18 hours. After cooling to RT the mixture was partitioned between EtOAc/H2O. The layers were separated and the aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc (×2). The combined extracts were dried (MgSO4), filtered and evaporated. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound (20 mg, solid). MS: [M+H]+ 288
