Procedure
A solution of KOH (12.9 g, 230 mmol) in water (200 ml) was added to 8-(4-methyl-thiazol-2-yl)-1,4-dioxa-spiro[4.5]decane-8-carbonitrile (15.2 g, 58 mmol), dissolved in ethanol (200 ml), and the mixture was stirred at RT for 48 h. Since according to TLC (EA/cyclohexane 4:1) educt was still present, the mixture was subsequently stirred at 80° C. for a further 3 h.
Workup
- stirringthe mixture was subsequently stirred at 80° C. for a further 3 h.
