1-Benzyl-4-tert-butyloxycarbonyl-7-methylene-2-oxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1H-1,4-benzodiazonine (160 mg, 0.41 mmol) was stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen in the presence of 10% palladium on charcoal (20 mg) in dioxan (5 ml) at room temperature for 20 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of celite and evaporated to dryness affording the product. (160 mg, 100%).
