Reaction Steps
3.71 mmol of triethylamine and 1.8 mmol of 4-biphenylsulphonyl chloride are added at 0° C. to a solution of 1.8 mmol of the compound obtained in Step I in 15 ml of dichloromethane. The reaction mixture is brought to ambient temperature and stirred for 12 hours, and then poured into water and extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic phases are washed with a 2N hydrochloric acid solution and then with an NaHCO3 solution, dried, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. Chromatography on silica gel (dichloromethane/methanol: 20/1) allows the expected product to be isolated in the form of syrup.
