A solution of 1 g (4.59 mmol) N-(chloroethenyl)-2,6-difluorobenzamide in 2 mL of dichloromethane was added to 4 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid at 0° C. A portion of 1 g (3.89 mmol) of S-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl dimethylcarbamothioate was added to the mixture and the mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 2 h. The mixture was stored in the refrigerator overnight. The mixture was poured into water (100 mL) and the mixture was filtered. The solid was washed with water (100 mL) and was dried overnight in vacuo at 70° C. to give the crude product 1.52 g (84% yield) as solid.
