Reaction Steps

The process of Example 1 was repeated except that 357 mg (1.00 mmol) of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-(β-benzyl)-L-aspartic acid, and 431 mg (2.00 mmol) of D,L-phenylalanine methyl ester hydrochloride were used. As a result, 426 mg (yield of 82.1%) of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-(β-benzyl)-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester having an [α]D25 = -12.5 (C=1.0 dimethylformamide) were obtained.
