Following the basic procedure of Example 7(f), by reacting 1.7 g (6 mmol) of 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-anthrylboronic acid with 1.47 g (5 mmol) of methyl N-propyl-4-iodo-2-pyrrolecarboxylate, 450 mg (22%) of methyl N-propyl-4-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-anthryl)-2-pyrrolecarboxylate were obtained.
