4-[(4-CHLOROPHENYL)METHYL]-6,7-DIHYDRO-2,6,6-TRIMETHYL-3H-IMIDAZO[1,2-a]PURIN-9(4H)-ONE.-- The nitroso compound of Procedure 103 was catalytically hydrogenated to the diamino compound and then treated with acetic anhydride according to the method of Procedure 63. There resulted from this process the mono N-acetyl derivative of 8-[(4-chlorophenyl)methyl]-6,7-diamino-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one, m.p. 155°-159° after recrystallization from isopropanol and drying under vacuum.
