To a stirring degassed solution of N,N-diethyl-4-ethenyl-2-(trifluoromethoxy)benzamide (1783 mg, 6.2 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (50 mg) in MeOH (30 mL) was added hydrogen (1 atm). The reaction was stirred for 1 h and then filtered. The filtrate was conc. in vacuo to a colorless oil. The oil was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 0-50% EtOAc in hexanes) to give 1489 mg of the desired product as a colorless oil. MS (ESI) 290 (M+H).
