To N-[4-(4-isopropyl-phenyl)-thiazol-2-yl]-2-thiophen-2-yl-acetamide (270 mg, 0.79 mmol) was added diborane in THF (1.6 mL, 1M solution, 1.58 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. Saturated NaHCO3 solution was added, and the mixture was extracted into ethyl acetate (3×5 mL). Combined ethyl acetate extracts were dried over Na2SO4, concentrated and purified on silica gel column to afford [4-(4-isopropyl-phenyl)-thiazol-2-yl]-(2-thiophen-2-yl-ethyl)-amine (103 mg). LCMS m/z: 330 (M+1)+.
