Following General Procedure A, 7-methoxy-4,4,6-trimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one (Compound 6, 1.0 g, 4.6 mmol) was reacted with a solution of 2M isopropylmagnesium chloride (12 mL, 22.9 mmol) to give 1.1 g (100%) of the title product as a yellow oil.
