Following General Procedure F, 6-methoxy-4,4,7-trimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphtalen-1-one (compound 30) (1.5 g, 6.9 mmol) was reacted with a solution of 2M isopropylmagnesiumchloride (17 mL, 34.5 mmol), and the crude product was purified by flash column (hexane:ethyl acetate=4:1) to give 0.88 g (53%) of the title product as a yellow oil.
