Procedure

To a solution of the compound of 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)methanamine (0.15 ml, 1.1 mmol) in anhydrous dichloromethane (2 ml), at −10° C. and under nitrogen, was added dropwise 3-chloropropanoyl chloride (0.12 ml, 1.1 mmol). The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 18 h. To the mixture was added dichloromethane (5 ml) and water (5 ml) and the two layers were separated.
