Experimental procedure analogous to that describing the synthesis of I-2a-I except that 4-methyl-2-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,3-thiazole-5-carbaldehyde and racemic-(trans)-2-(4-aminophenyl)cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (I-1) were used to give 1.05 g of the title compound as a light yellow solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.98 (d, J=8.78 Hz, 2H), 7.65 (d, J=8.78 Hz, 2H), 6.97 (d, J=8.60 Hz, 2H), 6.60 (d, J=8.60 Hz, 2H), 4.46 (s, 2H), 2.53 (m, 1H), 2.50 (s, 3H), 1.80 (m, 1H), 1.60 (m, 1H), 1.36 (m, 1H). ES-MS m/z 360 (MH+).
