Reaction Steps

A mixture of 0.092 g (0.39 mmol) of the product from step D and 3.0 mL of 48% aqueous hydrobromic acid was refluxed for 1 h. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and partitioned between saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and ether. The aqueous layer was separated and re extracted with ether. The organic layers were combined, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and evaporated in vacuo to afford the title compound.
