Sodium formate (0.308 g, 4.58 mmol) was added to a solution of compound of Example 2 (0.8 g, 2.26 mmol) in formic acid 85% (8 mL) and refluxed for 2 h. The reaction mixture was diluted using water (20 mL) and the solid obtained was filtered, washed with water and dried. The product was purified by crystalisation using DMF/methanol to obtain the title compound. Yield: 0.78 g, (91%); 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 300 MHz): δ 2.64 (s, 3H, CH3), 5.31 (s, 2H, CH2), 7.70 (s, 1H, Ar), 7.87 (s, 1H, Ar), 7.93 (s, 1H, Ar), 8.08 (s, 1H, Ar), 8.31 (s, 1H, CHO), 10.57 (s, 1H, NH); MS: m/e (ES−) 380 (M−1);
