Reaction Steps

Method 2 A solution containing the product from Example 23P (2.7 g, 4.21 mmol) in a mixture of methanol (20 mL) and ethyl acetate (20 mL) was treated with 20% Pd(OH)2 on carbon (1 g) and an HCl solution in dioxane (2 mL, 4 N), stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen (balloon pressure) for 16 hours at 25° C., heated to 60° C. for 6 hours. The reaction cooled and filtered through celite®, and concentrated. The residue was partitioned between dichloromethane and half-saturated NaHCO3. The organic phase was dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to give the title compound, which was used without further purification.
