Procedure

The title compound was prepared in 57% yield as beige crystals using methyl-phenyl-carbamic acid 4-hydroxymethyl-phenyl ester and succinimide. 1H NMR (400 MHz; CDCl3): δ 2.68 (s, 4H), 3.41 (br s, 3H), 4.60 (s, 2H), 7.04 (br d, 2H), 7.23-7.41 (m, 7H); HPLC-MS: m/z=339.1 (M+1); Rt=3.40 min.
