3-Bromo-2,4-difluorophenylamine and 3-fluoro-2-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolan-2-yl)benzonitrile were coupled together as described in Example 2 to give 3′-amino-6,2′,6′-trifluorobiphenyl-2-carbonitrile as an off-white solid (400 mg, 25%): δH (360 MHz, CDCl3) 6.88 (2H, s), 7.41-7.46 (1H, m), 7.50-7.56 (1H, m), 7.61 (1H, dd, J 7 and 1).
