Using the same protocol as described in example 23, step 2, (4-bromophenyl)(pyridin-4-yl)methanol from step 1 (594 mg, 2.20 mmol) was added to methyl 2-bromo-4-methylpentanoate (377 μL, 2.31 mmol).
