5-Chloro-8-thiophen-2-yl-[1,6]naphthyridine-2-carboxylic acid (furan-2-ylmethyl)-amide (1.0 equiv.) was combined with methylamine (10 equiv., 2.0 M in methanol) and irradiated in a microwave at 100° C. for 600 seconds. The reaction mixture was diluted with methanol (5 mL) and sonicated. The insolubles were filtered and the filtrate was evaporated to dryness to yield the expected product as an orange oil.
