Procedure
To a solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl 4-[4-[1-ethyl-3-(4-{[(phenylamino)carbonyl]amino}phenyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]-1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-yl]-3,6-dihydro-1 (2H)-pyridinecarboxylate (0.38 mmol) in methanol (3.8 mL) was added 6N sodium hydroxide (1.14 mmol). The reaction mixture was refluxed for 5 h, cooled to room temperature and concentrated under reduced pressure. The solid residue was suspended in water, stirred vigorously and collected by filtration to give the title compound as an orange solid which was used without further purification (95%). Alternatively, the solid residue was purified by Gilson reverse phase HPLC to afford the title compound. ESMS [M+H]+: 604.4
