A solution of 2-{2-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino-methyl)-4-[2-(5-methyl-2-phenyl-oxazol-4-yl)-ethoxy]-phenoxy}-2-methyl-propionic acid ethyl ester (350 mg, 0.650 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) was treated at ambient temperature with TFA (4 mL) and stirred for 2.5 h. The solution was concentrated and co-evaporated with CCl4 (3×) to yield the title compound as a foam (381 mg, quantitative).
