A solution of 100 mg (0.26 mmol) of l-naphthaldehyde (3-isobutyl-1-methyl-2,6-dioxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidin-4-yl)hydrazone, 36 mg (0.27 mmol) of 3-cyano benzaldehyde and 20 uL of triethylamine in 20 mL DMF was heated at 85° C. for 20 h. The mixture was diluted with ether and washed 4 times with water. The ether was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to give a yellow solid which was recrystallized from ethanol to give 84 mg of the subtitle product.
