Reaction Steps
To a solution of 40 (69 mg, 0.16 mmol) in DMF at 0° C. was added NaH (60% in mineral oil, 14 mg, 0.35 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 10 min at 0° C. before the addition of methanesulfonyl chloride (22 mg, 0.19 mmol). The resulting mixture was then stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction was quenched with a few drops of dilute HCl and then diluted with EtOAc (60 mL). The organic layer was washed with water (2×30 mL) and brine (30 mL) and the volatiles were removed by evaporation on a rotavap. The residue was purified on a silica gel column (15% to 30% EtOAc in hexanes) to yield the title compounds as an off-white solid (10 mg ESI [M+H+]=506.12).
