N,N′-Disuccinimidyl carbonate (262 mg, 1.2 eq) was dissolved in 6 mL dimethylformamide and cooled to 0° C. To this was added the tert-butyl 2-(4-amino-2-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)phenoxy)ethylcarbamate (242 mg, 0.95 mmol) dissolved in 4 mL dimethylformamide, drop-wise over 30 mins. The solution was removed from the ice bath and stirred at room temperature for 2 hr, then moved to an oil bath and stirred at 65° C. for 30 minutes. The mixture was used without further purification.
