4-Methoxy-2-(4-methoxybutylamino)aniline (2.50 g) was dissolved in acetic acid (30 ml), methyl 2,2,2-trichloroethanimidate (1.62 ml) was added, and the mixture was stirred for 1.5 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was diluted with diisopropyl ether, and washed with water. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the object product (1.75 g). MS (ESI+, m/e) 351 (M+1)
