Reaction Steps
A mixture of ethyl {2-[5-{[6-(methoxymethyl)pyridin-3-yl]oxy}-7-(1-methylethoxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]-4,5-dihydro-1,3-thiazol-5-yl}acetate (680 mg), tetrahydrofuran (5 mL), ethanol (5 mL) and 1M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (5 mL) was stirred at 50° C. for 30 min, and then cooled to room temperature. Water and 1M hydrochloric acid (5 mL) were added to the mixture and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (600 mg, 94%) as a yellow amorphous solid. MS 456 (MH+).
