Reaction Steps
A mixture of ethyl {2-[7-(2-methoxy-1-methylethoxy)-5-{[6-(methylsulfonyl)pyridin-3-yl]oxy}-1H-indol-2-yl]-4,5-dihydro-1,3-thiazol-5-yl}acetate (580 mg), tetrahydrofuran (3 mL), ethanol (3 mL) and 1M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 4 h. Water and 1M hydrochloric acid (3 mL) were added to the mixture and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (510 mg, 93%) as a brown amorphous solid. MS 520 (MH+).
