To a solution of [2-(2-isopropyl-2H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl)-4,5-dihydro-6-oxa-3-thia-1-aza-benzo[e]azulen-8-yl]-methanol (713 mg, 2.1 mmol) in DCM (25 mL) was added Dess-Martin periodinane (1,1,1-Triacetoxy-1,1-dihydro-1,2-benziodoxol-3(1H)-one, 971 mg, 2.3 mmol) portionwise. The reaction mixture was stirred for 5 h then diluted with DCM (50 mL) and washed with an aqueous saturated sodium bicarbonate solution (×3). The organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo. The resultant residue was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 0-10% EtOAc in DCM) to give the title compound as an off-white solid (736 mg, quant.). LCMS: RT=4.39 min, [M+H]+=341
