Benzyl 1-(2-(dimethylamino)pyridin-4-yl)piperidin-4-yl(methyl)carbamate (280 mg, 0.76 mmol, 1.0 eq.) was dissolved in MeOH (10 ml) and degassed with N2. Pd(OH)2 (140 mg, 50%) was then added and hydrogenation was carried out for 3 hours. After monitoring by TLC, the reaction mixture was filtered over Celite, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the crude product was used in the next stage without being purified further. Yield: 96% (170 mg, 0.726 mmol)
