Benzyl 1-(6-(dimethylamino)pyridin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl(methyl)carbamate (400 mg, 1.086 mmol, 1.0 eq.) was dissolved in MeOH (10 ml) and degassed with argon. Pd(OH)2 (200 mg) was then added and hydrogenation was carried out for 3 hours. After monitoring by TLC, the reaction mixture was filtered over Celite, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the crude product was used in the next stage without being purified further. Yield: 94% (240 mg, 1.0212 mmol)
